A stranger arrived at the tavern today.
Dressed all in black, in an unfamiliar way.
I served him his mead, he seemed satisfied,
Expectant, yet surprised, like if it was the first time he tried.

Could he be the one? Could the stories be true?
He doesn’t look like a hero, doesn’t wear white and blue.
Is he the man from the promise, the elders foretold?
Or is that just a saga, repeated since days of old?

Oh how I wish I could see what goes on in his mind,
But I fear when he leaves, he’s gonna leave me behind.
Never again I could see myself find,
Something so strange, someone of his kind.

Word is that Thor himself holds him dear.
Thunder was rumbling but the skies were clear.
Silence fell, and then he’d appear,
Voiceless and strange, but I got the sense, that we had nothing to fear.

Oh how I wish I could see what goes on in his mind,
But I fear when he leaves, he’s gonna leave me behind.
Never again I could see myself find,
Something so strange, someone of his kind.

When the jarl’s men arrived, he was gone.
Whatever he needed to do, had been done.
The townsfolk they tell me to just let him go,
But he’s on the tip of my mind, though as if it’s covered in snow.
